I was asked to speak on this unusual topic at the ASMY Center in Brisbane on 19thOct 2018.

The Vedas are a repository of vast information about the different aspects of the Highest Truth or God. Since ancient times, countless great yogis have had personal realizations of these different features of the Absolute Truth and were, therefore, able to make authoritative commentaries on both the journey towards these realizations and the resultant experience when one arrived at the transcendental destination.

The ancient Vedic understanding of God is so vastly different from the speculative and anthropomorphic theories often found in the development of theology in the “Western” world.

The Bhāgavata Purāṇa states:
वदन्ति तत् तत्त्वाविदस्तत्त्वं यज्ज्ननामद्वयं

ब्रह्मेति परमात्मेति भगवानिति शब्द्यते ११

“Learned transcendentalists who know the Absolute Truth call this nondual substance Brahman, Paramātmā or Bhagavān.”
