I was asked to speak about some of the positive benefits of meditation and how meditation can help me make better choices in my life.
Over the years, and especially with my more recent work with women’s shelters and in prisons, it has become increasingly obvious how wonderfully beneficial meditation is in helping people live better, more purposeful, and happier lives. One of the most significant reasons is that people learn to make better choices, largely because they are able to step back from their mind, particularly when it is in a highly emotional state, and make choices which produce a better outcome for them and everyone else.
And of course, one of the most important choices will be to live a more spiritually directed life which can lead to a wonderful ending to this life, when it comes time for us to leave our material body.
